Software Engineer — ParleAbout ParleParle is building the fastest, most natural way to turn your voice into text — everywhere you type. We started as VeroFi and are going all-in on voice: a dictation layer that lives on top of every app on your phone, starting on iOS with a system keyboard and expanding across Android, web, and desktop. We're small, founder-led, AI-native, and moving fast. You'd be one of the first engineers shaping both the product and how we build.What You'll DoBuild high-quality, tasteful product experiences across our React Native/Expo apps and the iOS keyboard extension — taking features from idea to shipped with strong attention to detail.Own entire product surfaces end-to-end: the recording UI and live waveform, the mic-to-keyboard handoff architecture, the streaming transcription pipeline, the LLM polish layer, and the backend API that powers all of it.Obsess over the feel of the product: latency, interim transcription, amplitude-reactive animations — the milliseconds between speaking and seeing clean text are the whole product.Work across the stack within a surface — RN client, real-time WebSocket streaming (Deepgram live with a Whisper batch fallback), the polish step (tone presets, action-context formatting), and the Expo/EAS build system. You don't stop at the UI when the problem goes deeper.Use AI tools actively in your day-to-day. We build on Replit and lean on AI coding tools to prototype and ship — you should too.Contribute to product decisions, not just execution — you have a point of view on what we should build and why.Raise the quality bar through code review, documentation, and engineering practices the whole team benefits from.What Makes You a Great FitStrong experience building mobile applications — React Native/Expo, or native iOS/Android — and you care about platform conventions, especially the hard ones: keyboard extensions, IME, background audio, and permissions.You have high product taste: you notice when something feels off, and you know how to fix it.Comfortable working across the stack within a product surface — client, real-time transport, and backend services.You move fast and ship often; you have a bias for getting real things in front of users over waiting for perfection.You use AI coding tools fluently and have a point of view on how to get the most out of them.Experience with performance-sensitive or real-time UIs is a strong plus — Parle streams audio and text live, and responsiveness is core to the experience.Bonus: system-level integrations (keyboard extensions, IME, accessibility APIs), audio/speech or transcription pipelines, multilingual/i18n work, or consumer products with strong user retention.Our stack: React Native / Expo, TypeScript, Replit, Deepgram (live streaming), OpenAI Whisper + GPT, WebSockets, EAS. iOS-first, Android and web close behind.
