Software Engineering Intern

DAITA is building the AI systems that runs the global textile supply chain.How does one of the world's largest industries actually work? Nobody had properly answered that, so two Germans spent six months finding out, across eight countries and three continents, from cotton farms in India to luxury buying houses in Europe. They found an industry running on WhatsApp threads, PDF purchase orders and hand-stitched spreadsheets. So Jerome left London, Luis left Berlin, and we set up in India to build inside the factories, alongside the people whose work we're changing.Today our AI is live with paying clients and our waitlist is long. We have raised $1.2M pre-seed ahead of a seed round. Four engineers, real revenue, and one of the least digitised industries on earth to go at.The roleYou are a generalist intern on a small team. You take real work off engineers who are stretched: smallfeatures, bug fixes, tests, tooling, cleanup. Some weeks it is a React screen. Some weeks it is an API, ascript, or a failing job. Bounded work, but shipped properly, with the person who owns that systemreviewing you.You do not need to arrive as a specialist in Go, Python, or frontend. You need to be able to pick up a well-scoped task in a codebase you have not seen, ask good questions, and finish it. This is built to convert. If you do well, the full-time offer is yours.As a Software Engineering Intern, you will

• Ship bounded work end to end: features, fixes, tests, and tooling that currently sit on seniorengineers.
• Rotate across the stack as a generalist: frontend, backend, and the glue in between, whatever thesprint needs.
• See work through review, testing, and deploy. A half-finished branch is not shipped.
• Pair with the people who own the systems. Direction and feedback the same day, not in a monthlyreview.
• Learn the industry, not only the codebase. Understand what a factory actually does with the thingyou built.Who we’re looking for
• 6 to 12 months of prior internship experience. At least one real internship where you worked insidean engineering team on a live codebase and had your code reviewed, not only coursework andpersonal projects.
• Strong fundamentals in at least one modern language. Go, Python, JS/TS or Java. Comfortablewith git, and a clear mental model of how an API, a database and a frontend fit together. You do notneed Go already. You need to be someone who picks it up in a fortnight.
• You have shipped something end to end inside a real team. Work from an internship that reachedreal users, went through someone else’s review, and that you stayed with after it went live. Ideallytouching both frontend and backend. Personal projects and hackathons add to this, they do notreplace it.
• Logical thinking and problem solving. You break a problem down to the simplest thing that works,debug systematically rather than guessing, and can work through a well scoped task in a codebaseyou have never seen before.
• Reliable, teachable and clear. You flag progress and blockers early without anyone having to ask,you follow through without being chased, and you take direct feedback and act on it.
• Bonus. Internship experience specifically at a startup or a B2B SaaS product company, exposure toGo or React, or a real interest in AI and agent tooling.Our stackPython, Node/TypeScript, and Go on the backend. React on the frontend. Postgres, MongoDB, AWS. You will not touch all of it in month one. Nobody expects you to. You will work in the language the task is already in.Why join us?

• You will learn faster than in a structured org. Four engineers and two founders. You are reviewedby the people who wrote the system, the same day you write the code.
• Build AI natively. We work with the newest tools and expect you to, and you will understand whyeach thing ships, not only that it works.
• Work that is actually yours. Small to start with and mentored throughout, but it ships, and customers use it.Who shouldn’t apply(We would rather you ruled yourself out now than in week three.)
• You want comfortable hours, or only the interesting work. Six days a week in our Bangalore office,plenty of what you do will be unglamorous, and some weeks you stay late until the thing works.
• You have not interned anywhere yet, or you only prompt your way to working code. This roleneeds someone who has already worked inside an engineering team. Coursework and personalprojects on their own are not enough here, and you have to be able to debug what the AI tools handyou.
• You go quiet when stuck, or take feedback personally. Being stuck is expected. Sitting on it for twodays, or arguing with review, is not.
• You do not want this to turn into a full time job. We are hiring an intern to convert one, not to hand out a certificate.
