Software Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, cloud-native software solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong people leadership, bringing extensive experience in software architecture, hands-on development, cloud platforms, AI-driven solutions, and engineering team management. This role requires a leader who can drive technical excellence, mentor engineering teams, and collaborate closely with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical LeadershipLead the design, and development of enterprise-scale software applications and platforms.Champion AI and Agentic AI initiatives, including the development and deployment of AI-powered applications, intelligent agents, and automation solutions.Drive engineering best practices, including software design principles, code quality, testing, security, and operational excellence.Provide hands-on technical guidance and contribute to critical development efforts using Java and/or TypeScript.Define and implement scalable cloud-native architectures leveraging AWS services and modern distributed systems patterns.Lead technical strategy, architecture reviews, and technology selection decisions.Engineering ManagementBuild, lead, mentor, and grow high-performing software engineering teams.Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and career development plans for team members.Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Manage resource planning, hiring, onboarding, and retention of engineering talent.Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and technical mentoring.Agile Delivery & ExecutionLead Agile/Scrum processes including sprint planning, backlog grooming, estimation, retrospectives, and release planning.Partner with Product Management and stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and align engineering efforts with business objectives.Ensure predictable delivery of high-quality software through effective planning, risk management, and execution.Monitor project health, remove impediments, and drive continuous process improvements.Cloud & Platform ExcellenceLead cloud transformation initiatives utilizing AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, and related technologies.Establish DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, and observability best practices.Ensure scalability, reliability, security, and cost optimization across cloud environments.AI & Emerging TechnologiesDrive adoption of AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Agentic AI frameworks, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and intelligent workflow automation.Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve business outcomes through innovation.Guide engineering teams in integrating AI capabilities into products and platforms.Required Qualifications15+ years of software development experience building enterprise applications and distributed systems.5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams.Strong expertise in software architecture, system design, and scalable application development.Hands-on programming proficiency in Java and/or TypeScript.Extensive experience with the AWS Cloud Platform and cloud-native architectures.Experience leading Agile/Scrum software development teams.Proven track record of delivering large-scale software products from concept through production.Experience with modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and microservices architectures.Strong understanding of software engineering methodologies, design patterns, and engineering best practices.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with AI/ML platforms, Generative AI, LLMs, Agentic AI frameworks, and intelligent automation solutions.Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Infrastructure-as-Code.Background in enterprise SaaS platforms, cloud modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.Experience engineering teams.Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Key CompetenciesSoftware Architecture & System DesignAI Agentic Development & Generative AIJava and TypeScript DevelopmentAWS Cloud ArchitectureEngineering Leadership & Team ManagementAgile/Scrum Delivery ManagementDevOps & CI/CDStrategic Planning & ExecutionStakeholder ManagementTechnical Mentorship & Talent Development
