Software Engineering Manager

Job Description & RequirementsOur client is seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead the evaluation, prototyping and delivery of technology solutions who is comfortable as an Individual Contributor.The ideal candidate combines strong technical judgement with a willingness to build. You should be comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, making pragmatic engineering trade-offs and working across technical and business teams.This builder-leader role combines technical leadership, solution architecture and hands-on development. You will take initiatives from problem definition and rapid prototyping through pilot delivery and production implementation.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate emerging technologies, including but not limited to AI, generative AI, automation and cloud-native solutions.Translate business challenges into technical concepts, prototypes and delivery plans.Build or lead the development of rapid prototypes and technical demonstrators.Define solution architectures covering applications, APIs, data, cloud, integration and security.Lead proof-of-concept and pilot initiatives, including technical scope, success measures and delivery governance.Assess technical feasibility, architecture trade-offs, implementation risks and production readiness.Manage technical delivery across internal teams, vendors and technology partners.Establish engineering practices across testing, DevSecOps, observability, documentation and source-code management.Support successful solutions through productisation and production deployment.Coach engineers and communicate technical recommendations to senior stakeholders.RequirementsMinimum Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, architecture, cloud engineering.Experience leading engineers or complex technical workstreams.Recent hands-on experience building prototypes or production software.Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, TypeScript, Java, C# or Go.Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, APIs, integration, data, identity and security.Practical experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or another major cloud platform.Working knowledge of AI and generative AI, including practical applications, limitations and risks.Experience progressing technology initiatives from concept through pilot and production.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Preferred ExperienceExperience delivering solutions in complex or regulated environments.Experience managing technology vendors or outsourced engineering teams.Experience implementing AI-enabled solutions.Familiarity with modern DevSecOps and secure engineering practices.For more information you can contact Norean Tan at norean.tan@sanderson-ikas.sgWe regret to inform you that only shortlisted candidates will be notified / contacted.EA Registration No.: R1434118 - Tan Lee Ying, NoreaniKas International (Asia) Pte LtdROC No.: 200914065E | EA License No.: 16S8086
