They foster a fun, fulfilling, and flexible work culture dedicated to building exceptional software and modern engineering teams.Role OverviewOur client is seeking a Senior Development Manager to lead multiple squads building their core Parks & Recreation platform. This is a player/coach position at a senior scale. You will lead a team of 10+ engineers across two or more squads, mentor technical leads and managers, drive delivery predictability, and maintain high architectural standards. While not writing feature code daily, you will stay close enough to the code to solve critical architectural problems, review pull requests, and lead the adoption of AI-assisted development across the organization.Main ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Growth: Lead, coach, and manage 10+ engineers across multiple squads through 1:1s, performance reviews, and career paths. Develop internal managers and tech leads to build leadership depth.Engineering Quality & Architecture: Champion Clean Architecture, SOLID, DRY, and Domain-Driven Design principles. Drive the introduction, operation, and measurement of AI coding tools and agent workflows.Delivery & Operations: Own predictable sprint delivery, capacity management, dependency mapping, and early risk escalation. Define continuous integration, automated testing, and release standards.Hands-on Technical Escalation: Contribute to code reviews, spikes, prototypes, and critical-path issues. Serve as the primary technical anchor when complex issues arise.Incident Response & Reliability: Coordinate cross-team production incident response at the management level, own on-call culture, and ensure high-quality postmortems.Must-Haves10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including 4+ years in direct people management.Proven track record managing teams of 10+ engineers across multiple squads (including hiring, performance management, and developing leads/managers).Demonstrable recent history of shipping code, writing design docs, conducting architecture reviews, and unblocking complex codebases.Strong Agile delivery ownership (Scrum/Kanban), early risk escalation habits, and hands-on experience running production services (CI/CD, on-call, postmortems).Deep functional understanding of Clean Architecture, SOLID, DRY, and Domain-Driven Design.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience.Nice-to-HavesHands-on experience introducing and measuring AI coding tools or AI agent workflows inside an engineering team.Tech stack familiarity: Modern .NET / C# (Core / 8+), ASP.NET Core, EF Core, SQL Server, and Angular.Cloud Infrastructure: Azure (App Service, Functions, SQL Azure, Bicep/ARM/Terraform) and Azure DevOps.Domain experience in parks, recreation, ticketing, reservations, permitting, or municipal/government B2B SaaS.Experience leading enterprise re-platforming/modernization efforts or working with security standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI).Position DetailsSalary Range: $120,000 – $160,000 CAD per yearWork Model: Hybrid out of Guelph, Ontario (Strong preference for local/hybrid candidates; open to strong remote candidates based anywhere in Canada).Benefits & Perks: Group health, dental, vision, and paramedical coverage; RRSP matching program; professional development and certification support.📩 How to ApplyIf this sounds like a strong fit for your background and you meet the must-have qualifications, please forward your CV directly to me at:📧 ANDY.WETTLAUFER@RANDSTADDIGITAL.COMThis post is for existing and upcoming vacancies
