About the Role

GREENER by IHCC is seeking a Solar Design Engineer responsible for the complete electrical and mechanical design of solar PV systems, including on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid systems with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), covering Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and utility-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

Design on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid Solar PV + BESS systems.Perform energy yield simulations, shading analysis, and loss calculations using PVsyst, Helioscope, and PVsol.Prepare detailed engineering and AutoCAD shop drawings, including SLDs, wiring diagrams, planimetry, and string layouts.Perform electrical and battery sizing calculations, including DC/AC cables, voltage drop, short-circuit, protection, and battery autonomy.Prepare technical reports, BOQs, material specifications, and project documentation.Prepare design and material submittals and respond to consultant and utility comments.Support SEC/WERA (Shamsi) interconnection applications.Conduct site surveys, data collection, and technical feasibility studies.Provide technical support to installation teams and support testing and commissioning.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering.Minimum 5 years of experience in Solar PV system design.Experience with on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid PV systems with BESS.Experience in C&I and utility-scale solar projects.Proficiency in PVsyst, Helioscope, PVsol, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.Knowledge of IEC standards and Saudi Building Code.Knowledge of SEC/WERA (Shamsi) regulations and utility interconnection requirements.Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration/membership is mandatory.KSA/GCC experience is preferred.Strong English communication and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

PVsyst official training or equivalent PV design certification.SEC-approved PV Expert / qualified specialist certification.AutoCAD professional certification.PMP or project management qualification.Site survey and commissioning experience.Arabic language skills.
