Solution Architect – Azure | Job DescriptionRole: Solution Architect – AzureExperience: 8–15+ yearsLocation: SydneyEmployment Type: Full-timeRole OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with strong Microsoft Azure expertise to design secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-effective cloud solutions. The architect will translate business and technical requirements into end-to-end Azure architectures and work closely with stakeholders, engineering, security, infrastructure, and delivery teams.Key ResponsibilitiesGather and analyze business, functional, and non-functional requirements.Design end-to-end Azure cloud and hybrid architectures.Create HLD, LLD, architecture diagrams, solution blueprints, and technical documentation.Design Azure solutions covering:Azure Compute / Virtual MachinesAzure App ServicesAzure Kubernetes Service (AKS)Azure Virtual NetworkApplication Gateway / Load BalancerAzure StorageAzure SQL / databasesAzure Key VaultAzure Monitor and Log AnalyticsMicrosoft Entra IDDesign secure and scalable networking, identity, security, and integration architectures.Define high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies.Design and implement Azure Landing Zones, governance, policies, and management groups.Provide architecture guidance for on-premises to Azure migrations and modernization.Evaluate technology options and conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs) where required.Define and govern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.Work with DevOps teams to establish CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.Optimize Azure environments for performance, reliability, security, and cost.Identify technical risks, dependencies, and architectural trade-offs.Collaborate with developers, DevOps, infrastructure, security, data, and business teams.Ensure solutions follow Azure Well-Architected Framework principles.Provide technical leadership throughout design, implementation, deployment, and production support.Mandatory SkillsStrong experience in Microsoft Azure ArchitectureAzure Compute, Networking, Storage, and Database servicesAzure Virtual Network, VPN, ExpressRoute, Private EndpointAzure Application Gateway / Load BalancerMicrosoft Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, Managed IdentityAzure Key VaultAzure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application InsightsAzure SQL / database architectureAzure Kubernetes Service (AKS)Azure Landing Zone and GovernanceTerraform / Bicep / ARMCI/CD and Azure DevOpsCloud security and complianceHigh Availability, DR and Business ContinuityOn-premises to Azure migrationHLD / LLD and architecture documentationGood-to-Have SkillsAzure Solutions Architect Expert certification / AZ-305TOGAF or equivalent architecture frameworkExperience with AWS/GCPMicroservices and API architectureContainers and KubernetesEvent-driven architecturePower Platform / Microsoft 365 integrationAI/ML architecture on AzureFinOps / Azure cost optimizationMicrosoft's current Azure Solutions Architect role specifically emphasizes designing compute, network, storage, monitoring, security, identity, governance, business continuity, and infrastructure solutions.
