This is a great opportunity to guide architectural direction on a high-profile initiative, from planning through to live operation.12-Month Initial Contract with possibility of extensionBased in Brisbane with 50% WFHProjects in HR, payroll, or ERP is highly regardedAbout this position:As the Solution Architect, you'll take ownership of the technical direction for a significant platform upgrade, acting as the bridge between business needs and technical delivery, and guiding the project team through to a stable, well-supported outcome.Key responsibilities:Shape solution designs that connect business, data, application, and infrastructure needs, staying consistent with enterprise architecture standards.Align designs with business goals and other major initiatives running alongside the project.Draw on experience with large, regulated back-office systems to inform design choices.Act as technical authority, owning design decisions and holding vendors accountable to spec.Translate technical complexity into clear, actionable options for business stakeholders.Build security, privacy, and compliance into the design from the start.Guide how new capabilities integrate with existing systems.Manage vendor and supplier delivery against architectural requirements.Partner with specialist teams to stress-test the design before sign-off.Lead readiness activities through go-live, keeping issues visible and the transition well-sequenced.Support the team post-launch with documentation, knowledge transfer, and early troubleshooting.If this role is of interest, please apply or send your resume to stephen@retained.com.au
