Sound Engineer

Role overviewWe are looking for an experienced Sound Engineer to manage audio setup, testing, and live operation for corporate events, conferences, exhibitions, and live shows. You will work with the production team to deliver clear, consistent, and reliable sound for presenters, performers, and audiences.Key responsibilitiesReview event briefs, technical riders, venue layouts, and audio requirements.Prepare audio equipment lists, input lists, patch plans, and stage layouts.Set up and test PA systems, mixing consoles, microphones, monitors, playback equipment, and audio connections.Configure and tune sound systems to suit the venue and audience coverage.Coordinate wireless microphone frequencies and monitor signal reliability.Conduct sound checks and rehearsals with presenters, performers, and event teams.Operate mixing consoles during live events, balancing speech, music, and performance audio.Manage stage monitors and provide audio feeds for recording, streaming, and broadcast as required.Identify and resolve feedback, interference, signal loss, and other audio issues promptly.Coordinate audio cues with the AVL Supervisor, show caller, and video and lighting teams.Follow safe working practices for sound levels, equipment placement, and cable routing.Supervise audio technicians during setup and dismantling, and report equipment faults or damage.RequirementsAt least 3 years of hands-on sound engineering experience in live events.Strong knowledge of digital mixing consoles, PA systems, wireless microphones, stage monitoring, and signal flow.Experience mixing speech, live music, and playback in different event environments.Practical understanding of gain structure, equalization, dynamics processing, and feedback control.Familiarity with networked audio systems such as Dante is an advantage.Ability to interpret technical riders and coordinate with performers, suppliers, and production teams.Strong troubleshooting, communication, and time-management skills.Ability to remain calm and make accurate decisions during live events.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.Relevant audio qualifications or manufacturer certifications are an advantage.
