The organization supports and partners with state legislators willing to take political difficult decisions to make progress on California's greatest challenges -- like housing prices, K-12 education quality and prudent long-term fiscal policy.Role Description The Southern California Fundraising Director is a full-time, remote role based in Los Angeles County, focused on building and sustaining a robust regional fundraising program to support the mission of 21st Century Alliance. In this position, the Director will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and philanthropic partners across Southern California. The role includes organizing donor events and creating engagement strategies that deepen relationships and increase financial support. The Director will collaborate with senior leadership to design and execute long-term fundraising plans aligned with organizational priorities and public policy goals. Additional responsibilities include support for state advocacy campaigns, coalition building with partner organizations and the administrative work that comes with being part of a lean team.QualificationsProven ability to meet or exceed fundraising goals, manage donor portfolios, and use CRM or donor management systems effectively.Background in political fundraising operations, donor campaigns, and/or fundraising initiatives aimed at building a sustainable base of support.Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, presentation abilities, and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders.Demonstrated experience working with major donors and philanthropic partners, including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.Strategic planning skills related to fundraising, donor engagement, and long-term revenue growth, ideally within nonprofit, political or advocacy settings.Ability to work on-site in LA County, with travel to the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento as needed, and to collaborate effectively with a small, mission-driven team.CompensationBase salary of $100,000, with potential for additional $25K in bonuses for hitting Y1 targets.
