Essential QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of education from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) approved college/university (Required).Certification: Georgia teaching certification in the appropriate field of education or ability/willingness to earn provisional certification (Required).Experience: Previous teaching experience or a background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) roles is preferred but not required.Core Competencies:In-depth knowledge of GCPS Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum and subject matter mastery.Proficiency in Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA) regulations, IEP development, and due process compliance.Mastery of research-based instructional strategies, visual/nonverbal representation techniques, and formative/summative assessment design.Ability to support physical and medical needs (e.g., toileting, feeding, positioning, lifting up to 100 lbs, catheterization, ostomy care).Core ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Curriculum: Deliver direct and specially designed instruction aligned with GCPS AKS curriculum and individual IEP goals. Use visual representations, explicit vocabulary instruction, and research-based lesson structures (e.g., acquisition lessons, guided/independent practice).Assessment & Data: Administer screening/diagnostic tools, monitor progress, analyze student work, and adjust instruction using formative and summative data.Classroom & Behavior Management: Establish clear behavioral expectations, maintain an orderly learning environment, and implement academic and behavior management plans.Physical & Medical Support: Assist students with daily self-help skills (toileting, feeding, dressing, mobility/lifting) and medically related procedures as required.Compliance & Collaboration: Manage special education due process documentation, participate in eligibility/placement teams, and collaborate with regular educators, administration, and parents.Ready to Apply?
