Special Education Classroom Teacher

PGH ABA is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our innovative, collaborative educational program serving students with exceptionalities. Candidates for this position should be passionate about working with students in a multi-age classroom setting and interested in using evidence-based teaching practices to support meaningful academic, social, communication, and life-skill development.Teachers will work in either a K–4 or 4–8 multi-age classroom, depending on program needs and experience.Our program integrates behavior analytic teaching procedures throughout the school day, with a strong emphasis on teaching within natural play, classroom activities, social interactions, and daily routines. Teachers will collaborate closely with behavior analysts and other members of the educational and clinical team to individualize instruction and create meaningful learning opportunities for each student.What You'll DoServe as the classroom teacher for a multi-age special education classroom.Develop and implement individualized academic and instructional activities aligned with student needs and educational goals.Integrate behavior analytic teaching procedures into academic instruction, play, social opportunities, and daily routines.Create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that promote student independence and generalization of skills.Collaborate with Behavior Analysts, Behavior Consultants, classroom staff, families, and other professionals.Use student data to monitor progress and inform instructional decisions.Support students in developing communication, social, adaptive, academic, and functional skills.Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing consultation.Maintain appropriate educational documentation and communication regarding student progress.Support students across a variety of settings and activities throughout the school day.What We're Looking ForSuccessful candidates will:Hold a current Pennsylvania Special Education or Private Academic School Special Education certification.Have a strong interest in working with students with exceptionalities.Be comfortable working in a multi-age classroom environment.Be interested in learning and implementing behavior analytic teaching procedures.Be flexible and willing to individualize instruction based on each student's strengths, needs, and goals.Have strong communication and collaboration skills.Be creative, energetic, and enthusiastic about teaching through play and naturally occurring opportunities.Be committed to creating meaningful, student-centered learning experiences.Why PGH ABA?At PGH ABA, we believe that effective teaching happens throughout the entire school day—not just during traditional academic lessons.
