Educators at IDEA join a mission-driven community focused on rigorous instruction, student support, and continuous improvement.Role Description The Special Education RISE Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Brownsville, TX, responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students receiving special education services. This role designs and implements IEP-aligned lessons, modifies curriculum and assessments, and delivers targeted interventions in small-group and inclusion settings to promote academic and social-emotional growth. The teacher collaborates closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to monitor progress, adjust instruction, and ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all relevant state and federal regulations. Daily responsibilities include collecting and analyzing student data, maintaining accurate documentation, participating in IEP meetings, and contributing to a positive, inclusive classroom environment. The RISE Teacher also engages in campus-wide initiatives, professional development, and family communication to support student success and college readiness.Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in special education instruction, including adapting curriculum, differentiating lessons, and implementing evidence-based interventions for diverse learners.Strong skills in progress monitoring, data collection, and using assessment results to inform instructional decisions and IEP goals.Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers, related service providers, and families, to support student achievement.Knowledge of special education law and compliance requirements, including IEP development, documentation standards, and adherence to federal and state regulations.Excellent classroom management and behavior-support skills, with experience applying positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and social-emotional learning strategies.Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills for family engagement, reporting, and participation in IEP and campus meetings.Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; valid teaching certification with special education endorsement (or eligibility to obtain) preferred.Experience working in K–12 settings, especially with students receiving special education services; charter or
