Onward Search Education is partnering with a school district in Lawrence County, Indiana to hire a Special Education Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. This opportunity is supporting a self-contained / intense intervention classroom serving K–2 students, with a small caseload and a structured school-day schedule.Job SummaryIn this role, you’ll provide specialized instruction and case management for students with mild to moderate needs in a self-contained setting, collaborating with campus teams and families to deliver strong outcomes academically, behaviorally, and socially.Position Details:Worksite: On-siteSchedule: 7:40 AM – 3:20 PMWeekly hours: 37.5 hours/weekPay/Bill range: $49-$52/ hourResponsibilities (What You’ll Do):Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned to IEP goals and grade-level standards (as appropriate).Develop, implement, and maintain compliant IEPs, progress monitoring, and required documentation.Provide a structured, supportive classroom environment using evidence-based intervention strategies.Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and administrators to support student success.Communicate consistently with families/guardians regarding progress, supports, and plans.Participate in meetings (IEP conferences, team meetings) and help ensure timelines and compliance are met.Qualifications (What You’ll Need):Indiana Special Education License (required).Intense Intervention endorsement (required).Experience working with elementary-aged learners (K–2 strongly preferred).Confidence supporting a self-contained classroom model and differentiated instruction.Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
