We are currently seeking dedicated educators to join our Student Support Services team serving scholars in Grades 9–12.Open PositionsSpecial Education Teacher – Grades 9–12English as a New Language (ENL) Teacher – Grades 9–12Both positions are full-time, on-site roles based at Albany Leadership Charter High School for Girls in Albany, NY.Special Education Teacher – Grades 9–12The Special Education Teacher provides specialized and differentiated instruction to scholars in Grades 9–12 with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The teacher collaborates with general education teachers and the Student Support Services team to ensure scholars have meaningful access to grade-level curriculum and receive the accommodations, modifications, and specialized instruction necessary for academic success.Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction in inclusive, small-group, and Resource Room settings; implementing IEP goals and accommodations; monitoring and documenting student progress; participating in IEP meetings; collaborating with families and school staff; and supporting scholars in developing the academic, organizational, self-advocacy, and transition skills necessary for graduation and postsecondary success.

Qualifications

NYS certification in Students with Disabilities preferredBachelor's degree in education, special education, or a related fieldKnowledge of IEP implementation, accommodations, modifications, progress monitoring, and differentiated instructionExperience working with students in Grades 9–12 and supporting access to grade-level academic contentAbility to provide instruction in inclusive, small-group, and Resource Room settingsStrong collaboration and communication skillsAbility to use student data to inform instruction and monitor progressCommitment to high expectations, equity, and positive outcomes for all scholarsEnglish as a New Language (ENL) Teacher – Grades 9–12The ENL Teacher provides targeted English language-development instruction to multilingual learners in Grades 9–12 while supporting their access to rigorous grade-level academic content. The teacher collaborates with content-area teachers and the Student Support Services team to provide instruction responsive to scholars' individual language-development needs across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.Responsibilities include providing direct ENL instruction; supporting multilingual learners in classroom and small-group settings; using language-proficiency and academic data to plan instruction and monitor progress; collaborating with content-area teachers to support language development across subject areas; maintaining required student documentation; and communicating with families and school staff regarding student progress.
