Educators at Ethos Classical collaborate closely to support diverse learners and build a supportive school community focused on student growth and success.Role Description The Special Education Teacher is a full-time, on-site position based at Ethos Classical in Atlanta, GA. This role is responsible for planning and delivering specialized instruction to students with disabilities in inclusive and small-group settings, aligned with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Daily responsibilities include assessing student needs, developing and implementing IEP goals, adapting curriculum and instructional strategies, and tracking progress through data collection and documentation. The Special Education Teacher collaborates with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure coordinated support and effective communication. Additional duties include participating in IEP meetings, maintaining compliance with state and federal special education regulations, and contributing to school-wide initiatives that promote an inclusive, supportive learning environment.Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Special Education and supporting students with Disabilities, including understanding of IEPs and differentiated instruction.Strong Teaching skills with experience at the Middle School or K–8 level, including classroom management and instructional planning.Effective Communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, families, and students, and for documenting and presenting student progress.Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies, behavior supports, and inclusive education practices.Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; state teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility) preferred.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and to engage with diverse communities in a culturally responsive manner.Comfort with using educational technology and data to inform instruction and monitor student growth.Prior experience in an urban or charter school setting is beneficial but not required.
