The district values professional integrity, ongoing learning, and a student-centered approach in all programs and classroomsThe Dracut Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher for our Elementary STRIVE substantially separate program for students with autism spectrum disorder.A certification in Severe Disabilities is preferred, but certifications in Moderate Disabilities will be considered.Essential responsibilities:*Provide specialized instruction to students in a Special Education setting*Have a strong understanding of developmental milestones and modified curriculum at the elementary level*Experience and general understanding of the concepts of Applied Behavioral Analysis*Experience with being part of the instructional support team, including classroom teachers, auxiliary support service providers, BCBA and paraprofessionals *Experience with IEP drafting and progress monitoring through the collection of data*Experience with assessment and eligibility determination*Strong organization, writing and communication skillsOther responsibilities: *Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.*Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.*Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.*Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.*Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
