The school values inclusive practices and continuous professional growth for staff.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Special Education Teacher role located in Plano, TX. The Special Education Teacher will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for learners with disabilities, aligning instruction with IB PYP and state standards. Daily responsibilities include differentiating instruction, providing targeted academic and behavioral support, and adapting materials to meet varied learning needs. The teacher will collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to monitor student progress, maintain required documentation, and participate in ARD/IEP meetings. Additional duties include assessing student performance, maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment, and engaging in professional development and school-wide initiatives.Qualifications Strong knowledge of disabilities and special education practices, including IEP development and implementation.Demonstrated teaching skills with experience in special education settings; middle school experience is preferred.Effective communication skills for collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and community partners.Ability to create inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments aligned with IB PYP principles.Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; valid Texas teaching certification in Special Education or eligibility to obtain it.Experience with data-driven instruction, progress monitoring, and behavior support strategies.Commitment to equity, diversity, and supporting multilingual and multicultural learners.Proficiency with educational technology and digital tools to support instruction and documentation.
