Location: Eastpointe, MIDescriptionBirch Agency is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join a school in Eastpointe, Michigan for the current school year.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a supportive educational team while making a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special needs.We currently have multiple openings serving students in either Kindergarten through 2nd Grade (K-2) or 3rd through 5th Grade (3-5) resource room programs.Position Details
Location: Eastpointe, MIElementary Resource Room AssignmentMultiple openings available:K-2 Resource Room3-5 Resource RoomCaseload: Approximately 10-14 studentsDedicated paraprofessional support providedFull-time positionIn-person assignmentCompetitive compensationImmediate start availableResponsibilitiesProvide specialized instruction and academic support to students in an elementary resource room setting.Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families.Assess student progress and maintain accurate documentation of goals and objectives.Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports student growth and success.Work closely with a classroom paraprofessional to support student learning and achievement.Support students who spend the majority of their instructional day in the resource room while participating in general education settings for specials and select academic subjects.RequirementsActive Michigan Special Education Teaching Certification required.Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.Previous school-based experience preferred.Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices.Why Join Birch Agency?Join a team dedicated to supporting students and empowering educational professionals.
