We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Special Educator to support learners with diverse learning and developmental needs at our Pune Learning Hub.Role OverviewThe Special Educator will work closely with learners, teachers, parents, and the school leadership team to identify individual learning needs and provide personalized academic, behavioural, and developmental support.The ideal candidate should be patient, empathetic, observant, and passionate about helping every learner achieve their potential.Key Responsibilities1. Student Assessment & SupportIdentify students who require additional learning or developmental support.Conduct basic academic and learning-needs assessments.Understand individual strengths, challenges, and learning styles.Provide one-on-one and small-group interventions as required.Monitor students' academic, behavioural, social, and developmental progress.2. Individualized Learning PlansDevelop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on student needs.Set appropriate short-term and long-term learning goals.Adapt teaching methods, classroom activities, and learning materials.Use differentiated and multisensory teaching strategies where appropriate.3. Classroom & Teacher CollaborationWork closely with class teachers to support learners in the mainstream classroom.Suggest suitable teaching strategies and classroom accommodations.Support teachers in understanding and addressing individual learner needs.Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.4. Parent CoordinationRegularly communicate with parents regarding student progress.Share observations, intervention plans, and progress updates.Provide practical suggestions to parents for supporting learning at home.Participate in parent meetings when required.5. Documentation & Progress TrackingMaintain student profiles, assessment records, IEPs, intervention plans, and progress reports.Track student outcomes and modify interventions based on progress.Maintain confidentiality of student information.Prepare periodic reports for the school leadership team.6. Behavioural & Social DevelopmentSupport students with behavioural, emotional, and social-learning needs.Implement positive and appropriate behaviour-support strategies.Encourage confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.Create a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment.Required QualificationsB.Ed. / Diploma / Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education from a recognized institution.RCI certification/registration preferred or required where applicable.Experience working with children with learning difficulties, developmental delays, ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, or other special educational needs will be preferred.Freshers with strong qualifications and relevant practical exposure may also be considered.Required SkillsStrong understanding of special education and inclusive learning.Good observation and assessment skills.Ability to create individualized learning strategies.Patience, empathy, and a child-centric approach.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and parents.Good documentation and reporting skills.Comfortable using technology and maintaining digital student records.Own laptop is mandatory.Preferred ExperiencePrior experience in a school, inclusive education setup, special education centre, or learning support environment.Experience working with children with ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, learning disabilities, or behavioural challenges.Knowledge of remedial teaching and differentiated learning strategies.Candidate ProfileWe are looking for someone who is:Patient and compassionateHighly observant and responsiblePassionate about working with childrenPositive and solution-orientedComfortable working in a collaborative school environmentCommitted to learner development and inclusion
