Specialist Anaesthesiologist

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Specialist Anaesthesiologist to provide safe, high-quality anaesthetic and perioperative care to patients undergoing surgical and diagnostic procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for pre-operative assessment, anaesthetic management, intra-operative monitoring, post-operative care, and emergency airway management while working closely with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and evaluate patients for anaesthesia suitability.Develop individualized anaesthesia plans based on the patient's medical condition and surgical procedure.Administer general, regional, and local anaesthesia as clinically appropriate.Monitor patients continuously during surgical and diagnostic procedures, including vital signs and physiological parameters.Manage difficult airways and perform appropriate airway interventions when required.Provide perioperative management for patients with complex medical conditions.Manage acute pain and contribute to post-operative pain management.Recognize and manage anaesthetic and perioperative complications promptly.Provide emergency resuscitation and participate in code blue/emergency response activities.Manage patients in recovery areas and assess readiness for safe transfer or discharge.Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records and anaesthesia documentation.Collaborate effectively with surgeons, intensivists, emergency physicians, and other clinical teams.Participate in quality improvement, patient-safety, infection-control, and clinical governance activities.Follow Dubai Health Authority (DHA), UAE healthcare regulations, hospital policies, and professional standards.Participate in teaching, training, and continuing professional development activities where required.Qualifications & ExperienceMBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.Recognized postgraduate qualification in Anaesthesiology.Relevant specialist clinical experience in anaesthesiology.Valid BLS/ACLS certification; additional relevant certifications are advantageous.Experience in general and regional anaesthesia, airway management, perioperative medicine, and emergency care.Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and patient-safety skills.Preferred SkillsCompetence in managing elective and emergency surgical cases.Experience with high-risk and medically complex patients.Proficiency in advanced airway management and resuscitation.Knowledge of modern anaesthetic techniques, monitoring, and perioperative protocols.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work efficiently in a multidisciplinary hospital environment.Key Performance AreasPatient safety and quality of anaesthetic care.Effective pre-operative risk assessment.Safe intra-operative anaesthetic management.Timely management of emergencies and complications.Accurate clinical documentation.Compliance with DHA and institutional standards.Effective multidisciplinary collaboration.Continuous professional development and participation in quality improvement.
