Apply & track with Apply EdgeA leading government healthcare facility in the UAE is seeking a qualified and experienced Specialist / Consultant in Brain Injury Medicine to join its multidisciplinary medical team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation planning for patients with traumatic and non-traumatic brain injuries, focusing on neurological recovery, functional improvement, and long-term patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assess and manage patients with traumatic brain injuries, acquired brain injuries, and other complex neurological conditions. Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans to improve cognitive, physical, and functional outcomes. Evaluate patients with cognitive impairment, memory difficulties, behavioral changes, and neurological complications following brain injury. Coordinate multidisciplinary rehabilitation involving physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists, and other specialists. Monitor neurological recovery and adjust treatment plans according to clinical progress. Manage complications associated with brain injury, including spasticity, seizures, cognitive deficits, and functional limitations. Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding recovery, rehabilitation, and long-term care. Collaborate with neurosurgeons, neurologists, rehabilitation physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with clinical guidelines and patient safety standards. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, research, and continuing medical education. Recognized medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent). Recognized postgraduate specialist qualification relevant to Brain Injury Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, Neurology, or an equivalent specialty accepted for the position. Western qualifications preferred, including UK CCT/CCST, American Board, Canadian Board, Australian Board, South African Board, or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification. Relevant post-specialization experience in brain injury management and rehabilitation. Experience managing patients with complex neurological and cognitive impairments.
