For more information, please visit www.ewec.ae.Job SummaryThe Health, Safety and Environment Specialist is responsible for maintaining and implementing the HSE Management system applicable to all employees within the organization. The role includes direct interaction with all departments within EWEC, and performance reporting to the HSE VP and GRC SVP. The Health, Safety and Environment Specialist provides visible and active support to the HSE VP in developing and maintaining a management culture which is supportive of health and safety practices. In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring that HSE policies are implemented through a working environment where potential work-related stressors are avoided, minimised or mitigated through HSE management practices and reporting measures. The Health and Safety Specialist is also responsible for monitoring staff performance and providing continuous feedback and support to foster Department improvement efforts.Key ResponsibilitiesTake all necessary actions to ensure that EWEC complies fully with the minimum requirements defined by Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health, (ADOSH-SF).Provide direct reports to the HSE VP on HSE performance, changes in HSE risk, and any other relevant mattersEnsure that HSE obligations are covered in contractor activities through selection, evaluation and monitoring/inspections.Implement the HSE manual and HSE policies to ensure proper implementation of the HSEMS.Support the HSE VP in the development HSE guides for provision of information, training and personal development, including guidelines for site works, site inspections and awareness seminars for the organization, driving Senior Management participation.Maintain and retain HSE records, update HSE logs and registers as per EWEC’s Procedures and policies.Review and identify HSE risks and analyses them in line with the organization’s strategy in close coordination with the relevant stakeholders.Identify and manage health and safety risks, accessing and following competent advice, monitoring, reporting and reviewing performanceReview, identify and manage HSE risks. Ensure all actions from risk register are updated and up to date.Continually coordinate with internal HSE stakeholders to ensure HSE actions from inspections, drills and audits are addressed.Update the HSE Procedures as per the internal document control process.Communicate HSE process maps to the relevant team members.QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree, preferably in HSE; or engineering, law or related field with relevant Occupational Health and Safety qualificationsLicensed or qualified for ADOSH General Practitioner GradeNIBOSH IGC or equivalent certificationExperienceMinimum of 5 years of extensive experience in HSEExperience in HSE Implementation in Abu Dhabi in compliance with ADOSH
