The organization is part of the wider Portman Healthcare International Group, which operates in five European countries.Role Description The Specialist Orthodontist will provide comprehensive orthodontic assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for patients of varying ages, ensuring clinical excellence and adherence to best practice guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing individualized treatment plans, fitting and adjusting orthodontic appliances, monitoring treatment progress, and maintaining accurate clinical records. The role also involves collaborating closely with general dentists, dental specialists, and practice colleagues to coordinate interdisciplinary care and ensure a positive patient experience. The Specialist Orthodontist will engage with patients and their families to explain treatment options, provide clear guidance on oral hygiene related to orthodontic care, and support long-term outcomes. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cornwall.Qualifications Recognized dental degree (e.g., BDS or equivalent) and full registration with the relevant dental council (e.g., GDC) as a Specialist Orthodontist.Postgraduate qualification in Orthodontics (e.g., MSc, MOrth, or equivalent) and demonstrable experience providing specialist orthodontic care.Strong clinical skills in orthodontic diagnosis, treatment planning, and use of a range of fixed and removable orthodontic appliances.Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuing professional development, and adherence to clinical and regulatory standards.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.High level of professional integrity, attention to detail, and a patient-focused approach aligned with PortmanDentex values.Ability to work effectively in a busy on-site practice environment, managing time, schedules, and caseloads efficiently.Experience with digital orthodontic tools and modern dental technologies is an advantage.
