Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are seeking an experienced and compassionate Specialist Pediatrician to provide comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and managing acute and chronic pediatric conditions, conducting routine health assessments, providing preventive care, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.The candidate should demonstrate strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered pediatric care.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive outpatient and/or inpatient pediatric medical care.Assess, diagnose, and manage common and complex pediatric illnesses and medical conditions.Conduct routine pediatric examinations, developmental assessments, and health screenings.Monitor children's physical, emotional, and developmental progress.Manage acute pediatric presentations, including respiratory infections, fever, dehydration, gastrointestinal illnesses, and other common conditions.Recognize and appropriately manage pediatric emergencies and arrange specialist referral when required.Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and evidence-based guidelines.Prescribe medications and treatments appropriately, considering age, weight, allergies, and clinical condition.Provide preventive healthcare, including immunization advice and routine health surveillance.Counsel parents and caregivers regarding nutrition, growth, development, medication, treatment plans, and preventive healthcare.Identify developmental, behavioral, nutritional, and psychosocial concerns and coordinate appropriate referrals.Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date patient medical records.Request and interpret appropriate laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic investigations.Refer patients to pediatric subspecialists or other healthcare professionals when clinically indicated.Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and coordinate care with nursing and allied healthcare teams.Follow hospital/clinic policies, infection-control procedures, and patient-safety standards.Participate in quality-improvement, clinical audit, and continuing medical education activities.Maintain professional knowledge in accordance with current pediatric clinical guidelines and standards applicable in the UAE.QualificationsMedical degree such as MBBS/MD or equivalent from a recognized institution.Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics.Successful completion of required primary-source verification and licensing requirements, where applicable.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is desirable.ExperienceRelevant postgraduate clinical experience in Pediatrics.Experience in a hospital, pediatric clinic, medical center, or comparable healthcare setting.Experience managing a broad range of pediatric conditions.Previous experience in the UAE or GCC healthcare environment is advantageous.Core CompetenciesStrong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.Excellent pediatric patient management skills.Ability to communicate effectively with children and their parents/caregivers.Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.Commitment to patient safety and high-quality clinical care.Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment.Professionalism, empathy, integrity, and confidentiality.Key Performance AreasQuality and safety of pediatric patient care.Accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning.Patient and family satisfaction.Compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and institutional policies.Timely and accurate clinical documentation.Effective multidisciplinary collaboration.Participation in continuous professional development and quality-improvement initiatives.
