Specialist Visceral Surgeon

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Visceral Surgeon to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the abdominal organs, including the stomach, intestines, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and colon. The successful candidate will perform elective and emergency surgical procedures, provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform elective and emergency surgical procedures involving abdominal organs.Conduct open, laparoscopic, and minimally invasive surgeries, including appendectomies, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs, and bowel resections.Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal diseases, abdominal infections, bowel obstructions, perforations, and other acute surgical conditions.Evaluate patients through clinical examinations, medical histories, imaging studies, and laboratory investigations.Develop individualized surgical treatment plans based on patients’ medical conditions and needs.Provide pre-operative assessments, obtain informed consent, and explain surgical procedures and associated risks to patients.Monitor post-operative recovery, manage complications, and arrange appropriate follow-up care.Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and intensive care specialists.Maintain accurate medical records, operative notes, and patient documentation.Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient safety protocols.Participate in clinical audits, multidisciplinary meetings, and continuous medical education.Provide guidance and supervision to junior medical staff when required.Qualifications and RequirementsMBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.Postgraduate qualification in General Surgery or Visceral Surgery, such as MS, DNB, FRCS, UK CCT, American Board certification, or Arab Board certification, as applicable.Relevant specialist or consultant experience, preferably 3 or more years of post-specialization experience, depending on the position and licensing requirements.Valid UAE medical license or eligibility for licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP, as applicable.Proven experience in abdominal surgery and the management of complex surgical cases.Proficiency in laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques.Strong clinical judgment, decision-making, and emergency management skills.Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care abilities.Preferred SkillsExperience in advanced laparoscopic and gastrointestinal surgery.Ability to manage complex abdominal emergencies and post-operative complications.Strong patient counseling and multidisciplinary coordination skills.Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and continuous professional development.
