We care deeply about what goes into every cup — from the quality of the beans and extraction to the way it is presented and served.We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Barista who understands specialty coffee, loves hospitality, and can take ownership of the bar while leading the team around them.The RoleThis is more than a barista position.You will be responsible for maintaining coffee quality and consistency while also helping manage the day-to-day functioning of the bar and coordinating with the FOH team.You should be someone who is comfortable behind the espresso machine, confident leading a team, and naturally takes ownership when things get busy.Key ResponsibilitiesCoffee & BarPrepare and serve specialty coffee to Bruno’s standards.Have a strong understanding of espresso extraction, milk texturing, brewing methods, and coffee fundamentals.Dial in espresso and make adjustments throughout the day based on coffee, environment, and volume.Maintain consistency across espresso, milk-based beverages, manual brews, and cold coffee.Ensure correct recipes, portioning, presentation, and beverage quality.Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene of the bar.Monitor coffee and bar inventory and communicate requirements to management.Assist with developing and testing new beverages and coffee offerings.Team & Shift ManagementLead the bar team during assigned shifts.Coordinate with FOH staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours.Allocate responsibilities and stations based on service requirements.Train and mentor junior baristas and FOH team members on coffee and beverage service.Ensure opening, closing, cleaning, and shift handover procedures are followed.Identify operational issues during service and resolve them proactively.Maintain discipline, professionalism, and a positive working environment within the team.Guest ExperienceInteract with guests and help them understand our coffee and beverage offerings.Handle guest feedback professionally and find appropriate solutions.Ensure that every beverage leaving the bar meets Bruno’s quality standards.Represent Bruno’s values through excellent hospitality and attention to detail.What We’re Looking For2+ years of experience as a barista, preferably in a specialty coffee café.Strong knowledge of specialty coffee and espresso-based beverages.Practical understanding of extraction, dialing in, brewing methods, milk steaming, and coffee equipment.Experience working in a high-volume café environment.Previous experience leading a shift or managing a small team is preferred.Strong communication and people-management skills.Ability to remain calm, organised, and hands-on during busy service.Good understanding of café hygiene, SOPs, inventory, and daily operations.A genuine passion for coffee and hospitality.Willingness to learn, experiment, and continuously improve.The Person We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone who:Knows coffee.Loves hospitality.Takes ownership.Leads by example.You don't need to know everything, but you should be curious enough to keep learning and experienced enough to take responsibility when things get busy.If you are passionate about specialty coffee and want to grow with a café that takes its coffee, people, and guest experience seriously, we'd love to hear from you.
