Location: Chesapeake, VA 23320Status: Full Time (40 hours/week)Shift: Day Shift (8AM-5PM)Occasional SaturdaysThis position is in a Call Center and you will be on the phone speaking to patients and setting up their medication orders for their entire shift.

We do not fill or dispense medications in our department; we process and set up medication orders for our patients. Our department is looking for someone that can multitask and is receptive to ongoing feedback from leadership.Performs the technician responsibilities in specialized areas of pharmacy practice under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work areaDemonstrates the ability to competently work independently in defined specialized areas of pharmacy practiceTraining in an advanced Specialist Pharmacy Technician job functionsAssumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to advanced specialist job positionsParticipates in the training of new employeesFills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner as required by specialty positionEnsures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient careTriages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as neededUses appropriate systems for processing patient informationEnsures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirementsOperates pharmacy equipment appropriatelyTraining in an advanced Specialist Pharmacy Technician job functionsIn addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice.EducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)Certification/LicensureVirginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)Experience1 Year Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)Keywords: Pharmacy Tech, PTCB, NHA, Medication, Specialty, Pharmacy Technician, CPhT, Epic, Omnicell, Rx, , complex chronic health conditions, health plan, MTM, commercial insurance, Talroo-Allied Health, Indeed, Monster, LinkedInWe provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
