This role supports the financial operations of a project-driven business, with a strong focus on accurate reporting, cost visibility, and day-to-day accounting execution. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in accounting, confidence working across multiple entities, and the ability to deliver dependable financial information to internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Monitor financial activity across active projects and provide budget-to-actual insight that helps project leaders evaluate performance.
- Examine subcontractor and vendor billing submissions to confirm alignment with contract terms, approved changes, and retained amounts.
- Oversee the accounts payable workflow, including invoice processing, coding, and preparation of disbursements.
- Complete bank reconciliations for the organization and affiliated entities, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Support monthly and year-end closing activities by preparing entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with internal financial reporting.
- Assist with state and local tax compliance by helping prepare filings and maintaining an organized schedule of reporting deadlines.
- Compile audit and tax support documentation for external accounting partners during annual review and tax preparation periods.
- Participate in budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning efforts to support business decision-making.

- At least five years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Practical experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working in a complex ERP system
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage confidential financial information responsibly.
