Sr. Autonomy Software Engineer II - MAGE

The Autonomy Research Engineer 2 conducts collaborative research, data analyses and software engineering, under the supervision of a project or task lead, supporting a group's research and development objectives. Mission autonomy is the ability for autonomous agents or teams to conduct strategic decision-making and coordinated actions toward longer-term operational objectives through persistent world modeling, predictive simulation, and adaptive planning under uncertainty and adversarial conditions.Essential Functions:Conduct assigned and/or collaborative research, data analyses and/or software engineering activities as directed, that support technical and program objectives. Support the group's business development activities by developing technical proposal content, supporting data analyses and/or software engineering, as needed, under the guidance of a proposal technical lead. Document and communicate technical results, data analyses, key findings, and takeaway conclusions of research and development activities to internal audiences. Contribute to publications as needed. This role requires the Ability to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time. May require the ability to push/pull/lift up to 15 poundsMust be able to Obtain and maintain an active US DOD security clearanceRequirementsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or similar educational background, or equivalent experience and 3+ years of experience in related industry experience or Masters Degree and 1+ years of experience in a related field. Advanced experience in research software development with relevant programming skills in MATLAB/C++/Python. Experience with AI/ML/Autonomy software libraries. Experience with simulation, development and deployment environments. Preferred Additional Skills and Experience:Master's of Science degree Experience with sensors and/or autonomous vehicles.
