Sr. Cost Accountant - Relocation to Uganda

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and review standard product costs and ensure alignment with actual production data.Analyze cost variances (material, labor, overhead) and provide detailed explanations for management review.Prepare and monitor cost allocation methods for various departments or production units.Conduct periodic profitability analysis by product, line, or business segment.Reconcile raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventories on a regular basis.Ensure accurate valuation of inventory in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure physical counts match book records.Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.Monitor actual spending vs. budget, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions.Prepare monthly cost reports, production cost summaries, and management dashboards.Support financial closing activities and ensure timely submission of costing data to the finance department.Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.Support the implementation of ERP or costing system enhancements.Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.4+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and ERP systems (SAP, Odoo, Oracle, or similar).Advanced Excel and analytical skills.Key Skills & Competencies:Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.High level of integrity and confidentiality.📍 Location*Uganda* 🌍 Why Join AQUA Group?At *AQUA Group*, we believe in *Agility, Accountability, Quality Driven, Integrity, and Innovation*.
