Lead detailed engineering of façade systems including:Unitized curtain wall systemsStick curtain wall systemsStructural glazingSkylights and atriumsAluminum cladding and composite panelsLouvers and shading devicesEnsure compliance with:Local building codesInternational standards (ASTM, AAMA, CWCT, EN, BS)Wind load requirements (including wind tunnel study integration)Seismic movement criteriaThermal and acoustic performance requirementsFire and life safety regulationsCoordinate façade interfaces with structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines. 2. Shop Drawing & Technical Submittal ManagementReview and approve:Shop drawingsStructural calculationsThermal analysis reportsMethod statementsEnsure detailing accommodates:Movement jointsTolerancesAnchoring systemsWaterproofing and drainageThermal breaks and condensation controlVerify compatibility of façade systems with adjacent materials and structural elements.3. Material Submittals & Technical Approvals Review and approve material submittals including:Aluminum profiles and finishesGlass specifications (laminated, IGU, low-e, tempered, etc.)Gaskets and sealantsFixings and anchorsInsulation materialsFire stopping materialsEvaluate supplier certifications and warranties.Ensure long-term durability, corrosion resistance, and UV performance suitable for project climate.4. Performance Testing & Mock-Ups Lead façade mock-up strategy including:Visual mock-upsPerformance mock-upsSupervise laboratory testing (if required):Air infiltrationWater penetration (static & dynamic)Structural performance under wind pressureSeismic simulationThermal performanceWitness and approve on-site testing.Review and resolve test failures with root cause analysis and corrective action plans.5. Execution & Site SupervisionOversee façade installation works on site.Installation qualityAlignment and tolerancesAnchoring and fixing integritySealant applicationGlazing proceduresCoordinate with main contractor and façade subcontractors.Conduct routine inspections and issue NCRs where required.Monitor fabrication factory visits and quality assurance processes.6. Cleaning & Maintenance StrategyReview long-term façade cleaning and maintenance strategy.Coordinate integration of:Building Maintenance Units (BMU)Davits and monorail systemsEnsure façade design accommodates:Safe access for cleaningGlass replacement proceduresRequirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Civil, or Structural Engineering12+ years of experience in façade engineering with multi-project exposure Experience in Shop drawing and technical submittal review (including structural calculations, thermal analysis, method statements), Material submittals review (aluminum profiles, glass, gasket, sealant, insulation, fixing accessories), performance testing, mockups (visual mock ups, performance mock ups, laboratory testing, site testing, etc.).Must have experience in execution and site supervision, and control over quality of façade installation (monitor installation, alignments, anchoring/fixing, glazing procedures, etc.).Experience in coordination with Main Contractor and Facade sub-contractor* While we carefully review all applications, only candidates meeting the specified requirements will be contacted for further consideration.
