We're looking for someone who treats the frontend as a system, not a layer of screens: someone who can build applications that look good and hold up as they grow, and who has the technical weight to push backend teams toward the right contracts and architecture.What you'll doOwn frontend architecture end to end — structure, state management, component boundaries, build and release pipelineBalance design quality against maintainability, and make that trade-off deliberately rather than by defaultDesign and consume APIs across REST, WebSockets, and gRPC; handle real-time and streaming data cleanlyPartner with backend engineers on API and data-contract design — push back when the contract will make the frontend worseSet the standard for how frontend gets written here: reviews, patterns, typing discipline, testing, performance budgetsMentor engineers and prevent the kind of structural drift that turns a frontend into a maintenance problemMust-have5+ years frontend engineering, deep in React and Next.jsStrong TypeScript and modern JavaScriptProven frontend architecture experience — state management, rendering strategy (SSR/SSG/CSR), code splitting, module boundariesHands-on with real-time protocols: WebSockets, SSE, and ideally gRPC/gRPC-WebSystem design background — you can reason about the backend, not just call itStrong product and design sensibility; comfortable working from Figma and improving on itPerformance discipline: bundle size, render cost, Core Web VitalsOpinionated about code quality and willing to hold the line in reviewStrong plusBuilding interfaces on top of LLM or AI products — streaming responses, long-running jobs, agent UIsData-dense UI: dashboards, analytics, real-time monitoringDesign systems and component libraries built for reuseTesting at scale (Playwright, Vitest, RTL)Backend or full-stack experience (Node, Python)What we look for Someone who has seen a frontend codebase go wrong and knows exactly why it happened.
