The Sr. Inspector, Mechanical (Static & Rotating) is highly accountable for ensuring world-class mechanical integrity and engineering quality compliance for the Heat Treatment and Finishing Line Expansion Project at ArcelorMittal (AMTPJ). This specialized inspection role oversees end-to-end quality assurance, validation, and alignment activities for high-precision rotating machinery and heavy static equipment. The incumbent ensures strict adherence to AMTPJ-JESCO structural and engineering specifications, international codes (API, ASME, ISO, ASTM), and regulatory statutory requirements from design compliance through installation, pre-commissioning, and full project close-out.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Perform comprehensive quality inspections on all static equipment including multi-zone continuous heat treatment furnaces, quench tanks, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels alongside heavy rotating machinery such as cooling water pumps, high-capacity blowers, quench agitators, handling roller tables, and precise mechanical transfer systems. This includes rigorously auditing, cross-checking, and approving precise shaft alignments, coupling clearances, and laser alignment profiles for high-speed rotating equipment in complete compliance with international API 686 machinery installation requirements.Supervise and verify structural levelling, verticality tolerances, internal refractory lining integrity, thermal insulation density, and anchoring torques for multi-zone continuous heat treatment furnaces during their primary construction stages while reviewing, validating, and executing rigorous field checks against project-specific Inspection and Test Plans, Field Inspection Checklists, and engineering method statements across all mechanical installation phases. Witness and structurally approve mechanical run tests, vibration analysis maps, bearing temperature stabilization curves, and dynamic balancing profiles during un-loaded and loaded equipment dry runs.Oversee material receiving inspections for imported high-precision mechanical assemblies while validating positive material identification tests, Mill Test Certificates, and vendor preservation compliance rules.Review complex Technical Data, Vendor Quality dossiers, and manufacturing operations manuals provided by global mechanical OEMs to ensure field integration meets all contractual design expectations.Formally issue Project Non-Conformance Reports, conduct technical root cause investigations using 5-Why or Fishbone frameworks, and lead the field verification and close-out of corrective and preventive actions.Interface extensively with Project Management, Engineering Procurement Contractor teams, Third-Party Inspection Agencies, and OEM site specialists to enforce robust mechanical engineering quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.Education & Experience:Diploma holder: Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in QA/QC inspection and quality assurance experience in heavy mechanical equipment construction and installation projectsBachelor’s degree holder: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in QA/QC inspection and quality assurance experience in heavy mechanical equipment construction and installation projectsProven track record in a Client, Owner, or PMC site quality supervision and surveillance role overseeing EPC contractors to enforce strict technical complianceDirect field experience validating the mechanical integrity of heavy static equipment and ensuring precision alignment for high-speed rotating machineryProven capability in developing and executing project-specific Inspection and Test Plans, managing Field Checklists, issuing Non-Conformance Reports, and driving root-cause analysis CAPAStrong familiarity managing mechanical quality compliance within Saudi Arabia or GCC industrial projects is highly preferredPreferred Mechanical Engineer with minimum 6-8 years of experienceSkills:Engineering drawings, blueprints and design documents reviewTechnical specifications, data books and material test certificates verificationQuality inspection dashboards management and technical progress data visualizationQuality KPIs tracking, automated inspection reporting and dynamic trend analysisAPI 686, API 510, API SIFE, ASME Section VIII, AISC and ASTM complianceMechanical static and rotating equipment construction inspectionMachinery laser alignment, vibration diagnostics and run test verificationInspection and Test Plans ITPs implementation and field checklist executionEngineering method statements and site installation procedures reviewQuality auditing, surveillance and structural compliance managementNCR management, root cause analysis and CAPA executionMechanical quality risk assessment and factory deviation controlContractor and third-party inspection field coordinationISO 9001 compliance and field quality application awareness
