Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Purpose: The job holder shall provide comprehensive legal support to the legal counsel, encompassing a range of legal activities by established standards of the legal profession, to protect Zamil Offshore Services Company and its divisions’ reputation and business interests and to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Support regulatory compliance efforts by advising on applicable maritime regulations and guidelines.Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including shipowners, insurers, and regulatory agencies.Provide guidance on environmental regulations affecting maritime operations.Assist in the preparation of legal opinions and memoranda related to maritime issues.Liaise with the admin department to update, renew, cancel, or modify licenses and manage attestation requirements.To assist and support the members of the legal department and to provide guidance to stakeholders in its business in the areas of contract qualifications/negotiations, support, and coordination with the various departments during the contract processing, throughout its execution/performance, including claims management.To liaise with the insurers about insurance policies and related to claim(s) processing and settlement.Support in conducting legal research on maritime laws, regulations, and industry practices.Support the legal counsel in draft and review maritime contracts, including charter agreements, bills of lading, and service contracts.To support and assist the legal counsel in conducting the Ordinary General Assembly and Extra Ordinary General Assembly meetings by preparing all the necessary documentation and applications.Provide support in structuring, drafting, reviewing/vetting, and negotiating commercial transactions, including but not limited to NDAs, charter party agreements, purchasing, sales, licensing, provision of services, leasing/rental, and subcontracts.Manage affairs with government agencies and authorities, including, without limitation, the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Commerce, Courts, SBC, Chamber of Commerce, etc., and maintain, update, and issue necessary documents for the company as and when legally required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Law 3-5 years of relevant experience in Business Law, Maritime Law or any related legal field Hands-on experience in contract management, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering contracts.Familiarity with international maritime conventions, treaties, and applicable maritime regulations is preferred.Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
