Job Description

The Senior Engineer - Mechanical is responsible for leading the design, coordination, execution, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems for high-rise construction projects. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, quality standards, QHSE requirements, and authority regulations while managing technical reviews, procurement support, stakeholder coordination, site supervision, and project documentation. The position also provides technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities

Ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the QHSE Management System, including participation in internal audits and management reviews.Lead the design, coordination, execution, and delivery of mechanical systems for high-rise construction projects.Review contract documents, project specifications, BOQs, cost estimates, and project requirements to ensure successful project execution.Prepare and maintain project documentation, including technical files, material submittals, method statements, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documents.Coordinate MEP systems with other disciplines and stakeholders to resolve design conflicts and ensure seamless project integration.Verify designs and perform mechanical engineering calculations, including ESP, head loss, and other system requirements.Manage material take-offs, procurement activities, supplier evaluations, technical inquiries, and material delivery schedules.Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, construction staff, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.Conduct site inspections and supervise mechanical works to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and approved drawings.Monitor project progress, identify delays, engineering issues, and potential variations, and report findings to the Project Manager.Attend coordination, technical, and progress meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.Lead testing, flushing, TAB, commissioning, authority approvals, and project close-out activities.Coordinate with relevant authorities including DCD, DM, DEWA, Empower, Emicool, and other stakeholders for approvals and compliance.Mentor and develop junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and continuous professional growth.Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager to support successful project delivery.Skills:In-depth understanding of applicable mechanical engineering codes, standards, and regulations.Proficient in mechanical design review, analysis, and engineering calculations.Strong project planning, scheduling, and deadline management skills.Experienced in feasibility studies, procurement, estimation, quantity take-offs, project controls, cost forecasting, and change order management.Excellent leadership, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects within budget and schedule requirements.Disclaimer: ONLY SUITABLE CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTEDRedfish solutions promotes a culture where diversity is welcomed and celebrated.
