Network & Security Engineer to manage, support and optimize enterprise network and security environments across a multi-vendor technology landscape.This is a hands-on engineering role covering firewall security, routing, switching, VPN, SD-WAN, network monitoring, troubleshooting and infrastructure transformation. The role will also support client projects, technology migrations and security improvement initiatives.The ideal candidate will combine strong technical depth with the ability to take ownership of complex issues, execute changes safely and work confidently with clients and technical teams.Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork & Security EngineeringManage and optimize enterprise firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs and network security infrastructure.Work across Palo Alto, FortiGate, Cisco FTD/ASA and Check Point environments.Configure and manage firewall policies, NAT, routing, VPNs, security profiles and High Availability (HA).Configure and support Palo Alto GlobalProtect, including AD and SAML integration.Configure FortiGate Site-to-Site VPN, SD-WAN, security policies and WAN connectivity.Support network segmentation, access control, IDS/IPS and other network security controls.Monitor network health, availability and performance and proactively address potential issues.Routing & SwitchingManage enterprise Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching environments.Work with VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, StackWise, VPC, ACLs and Port Security.Perform advanced troubleshooting across routing, switching, firewall and connectivity layers.Support high-availability and resilient network architectures.Projects & MigrationsLead or participate in major network and security transformation initiatives, including:Check Point → FortiGate migrationsCisco ASA → FTD migrationsNetwork and switch hardware refreshesFirewall and network architecture enhancementsDevelop migration plans, implementation procedures, validation plans and rollback strategies.Coordinate technical activities with internal teams, vendors and stakeholders to ensure controlled and low-risk changes.Support client projects and infrastructure improvement initiatives.Operations, Security & ComplianceTroubleshoot and resolve complex network and security incidents.Conduct security assessments and implement appropriate network security controls.Support incident response, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.Manage network monitoring through SolarWinds or comparable enterprise NMS platforms.Follow structured Change, Incident and Problem Management processes.Support security audits and adherence to internal policies and industry best practices.DocumentationMaintain accurate network diagrams, architecture documentation and configuration records.Prepare Change Requests, MOPs, migration plans, rollback procedures and SOPs.Ensure technical documentation supports operational continuity, audits and knowledge transfer.What We’re Looking ForStrong hands-on experience in enterprise Network & Security Engineering.Proven experience with multiple enterprise firewall platforms, particularly:Palo Alto NetworksFortinet FortiGateCisco FTD / ASACheck PointStrong practical experience with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching.Good understanding of routing, VLANs, STP, VPC, EtherChannel, ACLs, NAT, VPN and SD-WAN.Hands-on experience with FortiGate SD-WAN and WAN configurations.Experience with SolarWinds or comparable enterprise NMS platforms.Proven experience with firewall migrations, network refreshes and infrastructure transformation projects.Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.Good understanding of network security, risk management, incident response and security best practices.Strong technical documentation and communication skills.Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Certifications & EducationThe following certifications are desirable:CCNP Enterprise / CCNP SecurityPalo Alto PCNSEFortinet NSE 4 / NSE 7CCIE, CISSP, CISM or equivalent certifications are an advantage.A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.Additional RequirementsValid UAE Driving License – MandatoryOwn vehicle – PreferredWillingness to travel to client/project sites within the UAE as required.Professional communication skills and a strong client-facing approach.The Ideal CandidateYou are a hands-on senior engineer who takes ownership—comfortable troubleshooting a complex production issue one day and leading a firewall migration or infrastructure refresh the next.You bring strong technical depth, disciplined change execution, good documentation practices and the ability to work confidently across network, security, client and project environments.If you are ready to work on enterprise-scale network and security environments and make a tangible impact, we would like to hear from you.--------------------------Please send your CV with Job Code mentioned in Subject to JOBS AT Alphadxb.com
