This role owns what gets built and in what order across AI platform capabilities, agent systems, platform engineering initiatives, reliability improvements, technical debt reduction, and operational excellence investments. The role ensures engineering investments remain aligned with business priorities while balancing feature delivery, platform sustainability, operational excellence, and technical debt reduction.The Senior Product Owner serves as the product-side decision-maker for backlog prioritization, partnering closely with the Manager, Software Engineering - AI Platform & Reliability Engineering, who owns delivery execution, engineering operations, people leadership, and production reliability. The role reports to the Manager with a dotted-line relationship to onshore Product Management to ensure alignment with strategic product direction.Success is measured through prioritization quality, roadmap alignment, backlog readiness, reduction of engineering rework, stakeholder alignment, and the team’s ability to consistently execute against business and platform objectives. Join us in embodying the spirit of the Un-carrier and making a tangible impact.What You'll Do:Own backlog strategy, prioritization, and sequencing across AI platform capabilities, platform engineering initiatives, reliability improvements, technical debt, and operational excellence investments.Translate product strategy and roadmap objectives into well-defined epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria that are ready for engineering execution.Partner with engineering managers, architects, and technical leads to ensure backlog priorities align with platform architecture, engineering capacity, and business objectives.Balance competing priorities across feature delivery, platform sustainability, scalability, reliability, and technical debt while clearly communicating tradeoffs.Prioritize AI platform capabilities including agent orchestration, conversational platforms, SDKs, enterprise integrations, and Model Context Protocol (MCP)-enabled capabilities.Ensure production readiness, operational excellence, and reliability engineering initiatives are appropriately represented within backlog priorities.Collaborate with onshore Product Management to align offshore engineering execution with product strategy and roadmap objectives.Coordinate dependencies across engineering teams, architects, Product Owners, and platform stakeholders to improve delivery predictability.Accept completed work against defined business and technical acceptance criteria.Use engineering metrics, operational insights, customer feedback, and platform health indicators to continuously refine backlog priorities and roadmap sequencing.What You'll Bring:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.8+ years of experience in Product Owner, Product Management, Technical Program Management, Engineering, or related roles.Demonstrated experience owning prioritization decisions for complex engineering organizations supporting multiple workstreams and competing business priorities.Demonstrated ability to operate in technically complex environments involving distributed systems, cloud-native platforms, AI-powered services, platform engineering, or reliability engineering.Proven experience managing backlogs that include feature delivery, platform investments, technical debt reduction, and reliability engineering work.Strong understanding of APIs, distributed systems, cloud platforms, microservices, data flows, and software delivery practices.Experience partnering with engineering managers, architects, and technical leads to balance roadmap objectives with platform sustainability and operational excellence.Strong communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Must Have Skills:Product ownership, backlog strategy, and prioritizationTechnical requirements definition and acceptance criteriaAgile product delivery and sprint readinessCloud-native platforms, APIs, and distributed systemsStakeholder, dependency, and tradeoff managementNice-to-Have:Experience working with AI platforms, conversational AI systems, LLM-powered services, or AI infrastructure.Experience working with SRE, platform engineering, or cloud operations teams.Familiarity with reliability engineering concepts, including SLOs, SLAs, observability, incident management, and operational excellence practices.Strong analytical skills with the ability to use operational data, usage metrics, and production insights to drive prioritization decisions.Experience supporting enterprise-scale platforms serving large customer-facing applications.
