Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior React Native Engineer who has shipped and maintained production apps at scale, who is not afraid to drop into Swift or Kotlin when the JavaScript layer runs out, and who has personally taken builds through App Store and Google Play review. You will define our mobile architecture, build the app, wire up the release pipeline, and ship AI-powered experiences on top of our platform APIs. Role Responsibilities: Own the mobile architecture - Define the structure, state management, navigation, and module boundaries of our React Native application, and document the decisions behind them. Build production features - Deliver polished, performant, accessible screens against real platform APIs streaming AI responses, authentication, and role-based access. Go native when needed - Write and maintain native modules and native UI components in Swift/ Objective-C and Kotlin/Java. Bridge SDKs that have no React Native wrapper. Debug crashes that only reproduce on device. Own the release pipeline - Set up and maintain automated builds, signing, versioning, and phased rollouts to both stores. Keep releases boring and repeatable. Own store publishing - Manage App Store Connect and Google Play Console: provisioning, certificates, TestFlight and internal/closed testing tracks, store listings, privacy declarations, review submissions, and appeals when review goes sideways Ship AI features - Integrate LLM and agent APIs into the app: streaming responses, tool calling, token-level UI updates, context management, graceful degradation, and cost-aware request patterns. Explore on-device inference where it makes sense Make quality measurable - Build a test strategy that people actually trust unit, component, and end-to-end plus crash reporting, performance monitoring, and release health dashboards Raise the bar - Review code, mentor engineers who touch mobile, and be the person the team asks when something mobile-specific is unclear. Travel to customer sites across the UAE, including remote and clearance-controlled environments, on short notice when escalations require senior on-site presence. Required experience & Qualification: React Native Core 5+ years in mobile development, with 3+ years shipping React Native applications to production. Deep TypeScript (strict mode) and modern React hooks, concurrent rendering, composition patterns, memorization and re-render control Hands-on with the New Architecture: JSI, Fabric renderer, TurboModules, and Codegen. You understand what replaced the legacy bridge and why it matters. Hermes runtime: bundle size, startup time, memory profiling, and interpreting Hermes stack traces. Comfortable across the current ecosystem: recent React Native releases (0.8x line), Expo SDK with EAS Build and EAS Update, or a bare/brownfield workflow and clear opinions on when each is the right call. React Navigation (v7+) or Expo Router, with deep linking and universal links configured correctly on both platforms. Data and state at scale: React Query / TanStack Query, Zustand or Redux Toolkit, offline-first caching, optimistic updates, background sync. Performance engineering: list virtualization, image pipelines, Reanimated and Gesture Handler, frame-drop diagnosis, cold-start optimization, and profiling with React Native DevTools, Flipper, Xcode Instruments, and Android Studio Profiler. Native Platform Depth Able to read, write, and debug Swift/Objective-C and Kotlin/Java at the level required to build and maintain custom native modules. Working knowledge of Xcode and Android Studio: build settings, schemes, Gradle configuration, CocoaPods/SPM, ProGuard/R8. Platform APIs and permissions: push notifications (APNs and FCM), background execution, biometrics and Keychain/Keystore, camera, location, secure storage, deep links, and App Links / Universal Links. Comfortable in brownfield contexts embedding React Native in an existing native app, or vice versa. Understands platform-specific behavior differences and designs around them rather than fighting them. Store Publishing Has personally shipped and maintained apps on both the Apple App Store and Google Play not just handed builds to someone else. iOS: App Store Connect, certificates and provisioning profiles, code signing, TestFlight, App Privacy details and nutrition labels, App Review Guidelines, expedited review and appeals. Android: Play Console, AAB packaging, Play App Signing, internal/closed/open testing tracks, staged rollouts, Data Safety declarations, and staying ahead of target API level deadlines (Android 16 / API 36 for new submissions and updates from 31 August 2026). Release hygiene: semantic versioning, changelog discipline, feature flags, rollback and hotfix strategy, and over-the-air update policy including what OTA can and cannot legally change under each store's rules. CI/CD & Testing Automated mobile pipelines with Fastlane, EAS Build, Bitrise, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI including secret and certificate management (e.g. match, EAS credentials). Automated store submission, metadata delivery, and screenshot generation. Testing: Jest, React Native Testing Library, and end-to-end coverage with Detox or Maestro. You know which tests earn their maintenance cost. Static quality gates: ESLint, Prettier, type checking, and pre-commit/CI enforcement. Observability: Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics, structured logging, sourcemap upload, and release health monitoring. AI Feature Integration Experience consuming LLM / generative AI APIs from a client application streaming (SSE or WebSocket), tool/function calling, structured outputs, retries, timeouts, and cancellation. Designing UX for non-deterministic, latency-variable responses: streaming text, partial state, loading affordances, and honest error handling. Awareness of on-device inference options (Core ML, ML Kit, ONNX Runtime, ExecuTorch) and the trade-offs versus server-side calls. Sound instincts on prompt/context handling, token cost, and never trusting client-side secrets. Nice to Have Open-source contributions to the React Native ecosystem core, Reanimated, Gesture Handler, VisionCamera, or your own published library with Codegen specs. Experience with data-dense, real-time dashboard UIs (charts, live telemetry, WebSocket streams). Background in enterprise or B2B products: SSO/OIDC, MDM distribution, RBAC, audit trails. Security and compliance exposure: certificate pinning, jailbreak/root detection, secure storage patterns, SOC 2 or ISO 27001 environments. Design-system work and a genuine eye for interaction detail. Exposure to Kubernetes, GPU infrastructure, or MLOps concepts helpful for understanding what our users are doing. What We're Looking for Beyond the Stack Ownership - You ship, you monitor, you fix.
