Sr Roku EngineerUniversal City, CA/ Stamford, CT (Onsite 4 days) Phone + VideoJob description:Roku engineer with 4+ (at least 3 years) of substantial BrightScript/SceneGraph development.Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain Roku application features using BrightScript and SceneGraphRefactor tightly coupled code to improve architecture, maintainability, and scalabilityIntegrate and troubleshoot APIs, authentication flows, playback functionality, and multiple user screensSupport production issues and collaborate with engineering partners to deliver durable fixesWork closely with the team to communicate technical decisions clearly and contribute to clean, well-factored codeQualifications:At least 3 years of hands-on Roku development experience with BrightScript and SceneGraphExperience building production Roku applications that include authentication, APIs, playback integration, and multiple screens or user flowsStrong understanding of software architecture, clean code principles, separation of concerns, and refactoringExperience integrating RESTful APIs into application workflowsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, onsite team environmentDesired Skills:Experience with streaming playback concepts, HLS, DASH, adaptive bitrate behavior, and DRMFamiliarity with JavaScript or TypeScript for internal tooling and automationExperience with CI/CD pipelines and release automationExposure to Roku platform integrations, such as deep linking, search feeds, continue watching, Roku Pay, or advertising frameworksExperience debugging production issues using Roku developer tools, profiling tools, or telemetry dashboardsBackground with other living-room or connected TV platforms.
