OverviewOur Client is seeking a Senior Windows Endpoint Consultant to provide hands-on expertise supporting Windows workstation performance across the enterprise and its business units.Following the deployment of several new security agents across the Windows environment, teams have experienced workstation and laptop performance challenges. This consultant will serve as a senior technical resource to help quickly diagnose the underlying causes, identify gaps or configuration issues, and recommend and implement improvements.The initial focus will be Windows laptop performance and optimization, with the potential to support additional endpoint and Microsoft-focused initiatives as needs evolve.Key ResponsibilitiesLead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of Windows laptop and workstation performance issues in a large enterprise environment.Evaluate the impact of recently deployed security agents and endpoint tools on Windows performance.Analyze endpoint configurations to identify conflicts, missing components, configuration gaps, or opportunities for optimization.Review and troubleshoot Windows imaging, application packaging, deployment, and workstation configuration.Partner closely with Information Security, infrastructure, endpoint engineering, and business-unit technology teams.Recommend and implement configuration changes or other technical improvements to stabilize and optimize workstation performance.Help establish a focused SWAT-team approach for diagnosing and resolving complex endpoint issues.Document findings, root causes, recommendations, and remediation steps.Provide senior-level Microsoft/Windows expertise for additional projects as needed.Required ExperienceDeep hands-on expertise with Microsoft Windows workstation/endpoint environments, particularly Windows 10/11.Strong experience with Windows imaging, application packaging, deployment, and endpoint management tooling.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex Windows performance issues at the operating system and endpoint level.Experience diagnosing conflicts or performance degradation involving endpoint security agents, EDR tools, antivirus, DLP, or other security software.Strong understanding of Windows processes, services, drivers, policies, startup behavior, resource utilization, and system performance.Experience supporting Windows endpoints in a large, complex enterprise environment.Ability to perform detailed root-cause analysis rather than simply treating symptoms.Strong communication skills and ability to work across Security, Infrastructure, Engineering, and business technology teams.Comfortable operating as a highly hands-on senior consultant with limited oversight.Must be local to the Chicagoland area and able to work onsite in Rosemont, IL multiple days per week.
