SRE / Devops Leader - Build our India DevOps team from scratch

We're looking for a hands-on SRE/ DevOps leader to build our India DevOps team from scratch. You'll own the cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes-based platforms, partnering with development, security, and operations to keep systems scalable, reliable, secure, and efficient. You'll also champion AI-assisted engineering across infrastructure, SRE, and cost management.This is a ground-floor opportunity: you'll hire the team, set the standards, and shape how DevOps operates in India.What You'll Own:🔹 Building, mentoring, and scaling the India DevOps/SRE team from the ground up🔹 Introducing new initiatives, tooling, and ways of working that raise reliability and delivery speed.🔹 Cloud strategy across AWS and Azure, with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK)🔹 Production Kubernetes (EKS), Istio service mesh, and GitOps with ArgoCD🔹 CI/CD standards across GitHub Actions and Jenkins, plus container security🔹 Observability, incident response, RCAs, and on-call culture🔹 Cloud cost optimization, architecture reviews, and DevSecOps practices🔹 Guardrails and adoption of AI-assisted DevOps tooling.What you bring:✅ 12+ years in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure, with proven experience building and scaling teams✅ A hands-on leader who stays close to the technology, not a managerial-only profile✅ A track record of introducing new initiatives and driving them to adoption✅ Deep AWS expertise (networking, IAM, Route 53, load balancers); Azure experience✅ Strong Kubernetes/EKS, ArgoCD, and Istio experience in production✅ Terraform and/or AWS CDK; strong Docker and container registry practices✅ CI/CD with GitHub Actions and Jenkins✅ Linux and Windows Server administration; scripting in Bash or Python✅ Hands-on use of AI tools (Claude, Kiro or similar) to improve delivery, reliability, or cost.Bonus: AWS/Azure professional certifications, Karpenter, Datadog/Grafana/Prometheus, internal developer platform experience, high-growth startup background.If you've built a team from zero and still love getting hands-on, let's talk.
