This position primarily supports Accounting Operations and may provide support across other Finance areas as business needs require.Education And/or ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.Minimum two years of progressively responsible accounting experience required; experience in a financial institution or credit union preferred.Working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial statements, operational accounting processes, financial reporting, and month-end close procedures.Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, research issues, and document accurate resolutions.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate across departments and explain accounting matters clearly.Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and provide day-to-day guidance to entry-level accounting staff.Job ResponsibilitiesAnalyze, reconcile, balance, and maintain assigned accounting records in accordance with GAAP, applicable laws and regulations, credit union policies, and established procedures.Prepare general ledger entries and reconcile assigned subsidiary ledger, account, transaction, or reporting activity to the general ledger.Research and resolve general ledger, operational accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation discrepancies in collaboration with other departments.Support senior accounting staff in completing an accurate and timely monthly general ledger close.Manage assigned general ledger accounts, reporting schedules, reconciliations, and designated member financial transaction processes, ensuring transactions and balances are accurately recorded and supported.Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, supporting schedules, account analyses, and documentation for management review.Effectively communicate with internal or external accounting-related partners, vendors, systems, reports, or transaction processes; investigate discrepancies and record, reconcile, or escalate items as appropriate.Assist with the preparation and submission of management, regulatory, tax, operational, and ad hoc financial reports, including assigned reporting and account support as needed.Compile financial data, analyses, and documentation needed for recurring and ad hoc operational accounting and financial reporting activities.Use the accounting system and related tools to complete reconciliations, retain supporting documentation, process assigned activity, and produce reports.Provide day-to-day guidance and support to entry-level accounting staff.Perform other related duties and special assignments as requested by senior department staff.Benefits Of Joining The Teachers TeamWe provide a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes, but is not limited to:This position is eligible for our annual discretionary bonus program. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs.
