About Us We are a multi-generational, family-owned company seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our Family Office team supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a high-net-worth-family.Position OverviewReporting to our Family Office Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting financial reporting, managing payables, reconciling accounts, and providing tax document preparation and coordination support. Key ResponsibilitiesProcess invoices and vendor payments.Monitor cash balances and assist with cash flow reporting.Maintain vendor files and payment schedules.Support budget tracking and expense analysis.Prepare monthly bank, brokerage, and credit card reconciliations.Record journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.Prepare financial reports, schedules, and support analyses.Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with established procedures and internal controls.Provide essential support by organizing tax documents and assist the Family Office Controller with coordinating with outside CPAs and tax advisors.Special ProjectsSupport ad hoc financial analyses and special projects.Assist in improving accounting processes and internal controls.Handle sensitive family and financial information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.A minimum of 2 years of related accounting experienceExperience working in a family office, or public accounting firm serving high-net-worth individuals is strongly preferred.Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to maintain accurate books and records, prepare supporting schedules, and identify and resolve discrepancies.Experience with trust, partnership, investment, and brokerage accounting, including the ability to organize source documents and prepare schedules for outside CPAs and tax advisors.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, reconciliations, and financial analysis; strong working knowledge of QuickBooks or a comparable accounting system.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, investigate variances, and produce accurate work with close attention to detail.High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion, with demonstrated ability to safeguard confidential family, tax, investment, and financial information.Ability to work independently, communicate effectively and contribute to process improvements and special projects in a high-touch environment.
