This position is responsible for day-to-day accounting activities, including recording journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, and processing accounts payable and accounts receivable. The role also includes assisting with month-end and year-end closings, preparing financial reports for management, and supporting budget tracking and variance analysis. The Staff Accountant will collaborate closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure accurate financial data, timely reporting, and compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards. This role may also support audits, help refine accounting processes, and contribute to financial best practices for the club’s operations and events.QualificationsStrong proficiency in general accounting, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and collections support.Ability to assist with month-end and year-end close activities, budget monitoring, and variance analysis.Comfort with accounting software and ERP systems; advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.Knowledge of GAAP or other relevant accounting standards, and familiarity with audit support and internal control procedures.Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldPrior experience in hospitality, membership organizations, or arts and culture environments is advantageous.
