Staff Accountant

We are a growing company in search of team players with professional qualities to help us drive service excellence and add their own unique value to our business!POSITION OVERVIEWThe Staff Accountant supports daily accounting operations, including financial reporting, account reconciliations, and accounting activities related to owned, leased, and rented motor vehicle equipment. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional who can work independently and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain accurate financial records and perform daily accounting activities.Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closings.Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and other financial records.Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.Maintain organized accounting documentation and records.Support internal and external audits.Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.Collaborate with management and other departments on accounting matters.Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.EDUCATIONMinimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.REQUIRED SKILLSKnowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Commitment to ongoing professional development.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS2+ years of accounting experience.Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.Familiarity with NetSuite or other ERP/accounting software.Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting.Industry experience in transportation, logistics, construction, or similar environments is preferred.
