Staff AccountantMaine Municipal Bond Bank | Augusta, MaineSalary Range: $70,000 - $95,000 annually, depending on experienceThe Maine Municipal Bond Bank (MMBB) is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys problem-solving, managing complex financial information, and contributing to projects that improve communities across Maine. MMBB, along with the Maine Governmental Facilities Authority and the Maine Health & Higher Educational Facilities Authority, manages more than $7 billion in loans, grants, and investments that support critical public infrastructure and economic development throughout the state. What You'll DoAs a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of assigned programs and authorities. Responsibilities include:Preparing and reconciling quarterly financial statementsMaintaining detailed accounting schedules and audit documentationRecording and tracking investmentsReconciling accounts and ensuring general ledger accuracyWorking with auditors, trustees, borrowers, and internal staffPreparing Treasurer's Reports and other financial reportsReviewing financial data for accuracy and completenessSupporting the accounting team through cross-training and collaborationWhat We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is:Exceptionally detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracyHighly organized and skilled at managing multiple prioritiesAble to work independently while collaborating effectively with a teamComfortable meeting deadlines and handling confidential informationProficient with accounting systems, spreadsheets, and financial reportingKnowledgeable in accounting principles and financial operationsA bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and accounting experience will be considered.
