Staff Front End Engineer

As the platform continues to scale, they are looking for an experienced Staff Frontend Engineer to take a key role in the technical direction and architecture of their frontend applications.This is a senior individual contributor position with no direct reports. You will remain hands-on while having significant influence over frontend architecture, engineering standards and technical decision-making across the business.The RoleWorking closely with Product, Design and Backend Engineering, you will:Architect, build and support frontend applications across the platformTake ownership of frontend architecture and help define the technical directionBuild complex, interactive and data-rich applications using React and TypeScriptTranslate product requirements and wireframes into intuitive, high-quality user experiencesWork closely with Backend Engineers to integrate services and build performant, scalable applicationsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineersInfluence engineering standards and contribute to technical hiring decisionsWork within a fast-paced Agile engineering environmentWhat We're Looking For8+ years' experience within software/frontend engineeringStrong commercial experience with React and TypeScriptProven experience owning or designing frontend architectureExperience operating at Staff, Principal, Lead or equivalent senior IC levelComfortable taking ownership and making technical decisions with limited guidanceStrong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical teamsExperience working within a start-up, scale-up, financial institution or technology businessBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related fieldDesirable ExperienceExperience in any of the following would be advantageous:Financial data or financial servicesInvestment Management, Asset Management, Private Markets, Capital Markets or FinTechAWSGraphQLCypress or PlaywrightGitLabWhy Join?This is an opportunity to join a growing technology business where you will have genuine influence over how the frontend is designed and developed.Rather than moving away from engineering into people management, you will remain close to the technology while helping shape architecture, standards and technical direction as the platform continues to grow.
