- Opening shift: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Day shift: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Mid shift: 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM
- Closing shift: 11:30 AM to 8:00 PMNew hires will primarily work 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Friday, with an occasional Saturday rotation, generally approximately every six weeks, based on business needs.New staff pharmacists may also provide primary coverage for closing shifts when coverage is needed.We are also considering adding a late shift from 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM Monday through Friday. New hires may provide vacation coverage for this shift approximately 10 to 20 times per year.Starting compensation is $135,000 to $145,000 annually, depending on experience, employment history, and interview.What Is Compounding?Compounding is the art and science of creating customized medications and dosage forms tailored to an individual patient's needs.At Northwest Compounders, we use USP grade pharmaceutical ingredients to create a wide variety of dosage forms for human and veterinary patients, including capsules, suspensions, topical preparations, mini tablets, otic and ophthalmic preparations, suppositories, troches, and many other specialized dosage forms.Our pharmacy combines the precision of a chemistry lab with the patient focus of a pharmacy.We are a busy pharmacy, but unlike many traditional retail environments, our patients genuinely appreciate the work we do. We encourage you to check out our reviews on Yelp and Google to learn more about our customer experience.Because we do not bill insurance, our team can focus more directly on compounding and patient care.Pharmacist ResponsibilitiesStaff Pharmacists primarily support two key areas: Prescription Processing and Prescription Checking.Prescription ProcessingResponsibilities include:
- Processing prescriptions through our pharmacy software
- Answering phones and providing patient consultation
- Providing excellent customer service and resolving patient concerns
- Building and researching formulas and ingredients
- Troubleshooting complex orders
- Performing Drug Utilization Reviews in accordance with pharmacy law
- Communicating through email and fax
- Collaborating with technicians and other pharmacy team members
- Maintaining current continuing education and Oregon licensure requirements
- Maintaining a professional, ethical, and legally compliant work environmentPrescription CheckingResponsibilities include:
- Checking compounds and prescriptions for accuracy
- Performing final verification and quality assurance checks
- Performing volume, pH, and other required midpoint checks
- Verifying appropriate drug, dose, and therapy for each patient
- Verifying shipping and billing accuracy
- Providing coaching and accountability when errors occur
- Ensuring completed prescriptions are placed in the appropriate fulfillment area
- Leading by example and maintaining a focused, productive laboratory environment
- Standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 20 poundsOpportunities to GrowDepending on experience, interest, and business needs, pharmacists may have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities in areas such as:

Qualifications
- Active Oregon pharmacist license
- At least two years of prior pharmacy experience
