The Store Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions, operating the cash register or point-of-sale system, processing cashless payments, and issuing receipts accurately. Daily tasks include greeting customers, answering basic product or pricing questions, managing cash drawers, and reconciling transactions at the end of shifts. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, assisting with packaging purchased items, and coordinating with store staff to resolve pricing or transaction issues. The Store Cashier follows company policies, complies with standard operating procedures, and supports a positive customer experience.Qualifications Ability to operate cash registers or POS systems, handle cash accurately, and process electronic payments.Strong customer service skills, including polite communication, patience, and a helpful attitude toward customers.Basic numerical and problem-solving skills to manage transactions, give correct change, and resolve payment discrepancies.Attention to detail and reliability to follow procedures, prevent errors, and ensure transaction records are correct.Ability to stand for extended periods, work in a fast-paced retail environment, and follow safety and store guidelines.Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by store operations.Previous experience in retail, cashiering, or customer-facing roles is an advantage but not mandatory.Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, with basic computer literacy preferred.
